The first official capsule designed by Don C, the Creative Strategy and Design Advisor for the Chicago Bulls, has been announced. The limited-edition collection, titled “1966 x Just Don,” goes beyond basketball and includes Bulls-inspired rugby shirts, hockey jerseys, joggers, track jackets, and coach jackets, allowing fans to represent the team in various aspects of their lives.
This upcoming series follows the Bulls’ collaboration with Off-White™ before the NBA All-Star Weekend and a tee designed by Don C in 2021 to commemorate Joakim Noah’s legacy after his retirement. Don C’s designs blend the aesthetics of his streetwear brand “Just Don” with the Bulls “1966” lifestyle brand and 2022-23 City Edition jerseys launched in November in partnership with NBA and Nike. Some highlights of the collection include the Bulls rugby shirt featuring a large “66” patch, striped tracksuits, and laced hockey jersey hoodies.
Don C, who is a native Chicagoan and long-time Bulls fan, said, “Collaborating with sports entities is nothing new for me, but designing this collection is a dream come true. I wanted to show through my designs that the Bulls are not just a sports team. It’s a brand that influences style and culture, a dynasty, an organization with a championship mentality.” He further added, “That’s why I decided to incorporate the style of other sports gear to further drive home that the Bulls’ impact goes beyond the court. The team’s logo can be on a rugby, coach’s jacket, or hockey jersey, and it still feels authentic. That’s how powerful the brand is.”
The “1966 x Just Don” capsule will be exclusively available at the Madhouse Team Store inside the United Center atrium on February 24, as the Bulls face off against the Brooklyn Nets. The prices range from $40 to $150 USD.
